[A]nother [Y]ear
Wednesday, November 29th, 2006It’s 3 years now, since the youth fellowship started. I remember I was 17 back then, taking my SPM, haha.. being the 1st president with the 1st batch of committees and the 1st batch of members ain’t easy at all. Hugh dreams like having a Youth revival conference, Youth concert, hugh stuff haha, and etc.
Each time we see, we heard people saying their youth group grown from 10 to a 100 in a year, we’ll always look back to ourselves. Eveytime when we see or we heard that the other youth fellowship from another church’s able to do something awesome, we look back at ourselve disappointed and kept on dreaming that one day it’s going to happen.
Well all I could say was these 3 years of my life has been the most meaningful, awesome life changing experience. I was a "Ponteng King" in form4, skipped school for approximately a 100 days. Haha that a record a christain like me has broke, but things change when I was able to continue staying in the school due to some reasons *if you wanna noe pm me*. Anyway lemme get back to myself. During that time I’ve already said to myself I’m going to start a youth fellowship in my church. AMAZINGLY, guess what, our Pastor-in-charge said to me "Hey Joshua, I think it’s time your church start a youth fellowship and you’ll be leading them."
I was so overwhelmed that I couldn’t sleep. When the day finally come for our first meeting. Haha, just the few of us (we called ourselve the Committee aka. Member), but that’s all alone time ago.
We consisted of a bunch of weird people with weird personalities (like me a "ponteng king"?!).
But through these years working together, God has made so much changes not only this YF has impacted our life but the church’s life and also the LCEC (our church leaders) and also the adults. Those I said with funny characters all have changed. Seeing them grow is such a joy. I’ve been in this church for 8 years now. So many young ones have come to join the YF. Such Joyful memories will never be forgotten, that how the work of God which is so amazingly, perfectly done.
It’s so amazing~!! Now, 3 years later, finally I guess my time is up. I totally ignore the methodist youth fellowship’s handbook that says that the committee will undergo a voting session for the next batch of committee, haha.. well I’m a 3 year old president haha.., the LCEC (my church’s leaders) is asking whether is anyone suitable to take my place as president next year.I myself will be "promoted" to be an advisor.
Now here’s my problem. I’m worried ’bout "Da Gang", usually I’ll do their stuff if they cant do it. Haha.., shortta kindda "manja" da committee. I don’t know how to let go of this youth and move on. Though everyone is say "Your still a youth…(advisor)", but the feeling is totally different. This youth fellowship is like part of me, and it kepts coming to me that I have not done alot for the youth. I’ve dedicated my life to God for youths everywhere. God always made promises that never fails, I want to take that example that the promise that I’ve made to God will not fail. I have a feeling that God is going to give me much bigger stuff to do from now on.
Tomorrow is thursday. The day that I’ll remember for life. The day that God is going to tell me whether to stay for another year or not.
